The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) is the European Union´s chief instrument for funding research over the period 2007 to 2013. The broad objectives of FP7 have been grouped into four categories: CooperationIdeasPeople and Capacities.

Cultural Heritage & Technology Enhanced Learning is the division within the ICT that covers European research on technology-enhanced learning investigates how information and communication technologies can be used to support learning and teaching, and competence development throughout life.

ELEKTRA: "Enhanced Learning Experience and Knowledge TRAnsfer"
80days forerunner as FP6 research initiative that aimed at revolutionising technology-enhanced learning. Nine interdisciplinary partners from six different European countries merged their expertises in cognitive science, pedagogical theory, computer science and neuroscience with the innovations of computer gaming, design and development.
